The artist Lucian Freud, a grandson of Sigmund Freud, chats with Brendan Behan outside the Mansion House. Freud was a frequent visitor to Dublin in the 1950s. Behan was a novelist, poet and playwright, as well as a former member of the IRA. This picture was taken two years before his first major success, The Quare Fellow.
