The Daily Mirror newspaper, dated Tuesday May 2nd, 1916. Three photographs on the front page. Text reads "The Battle of Sackville Street: First photographs from the scene of the fighting in Dublin." Description under the first picture reads "Sackville-street as seen from O'Connell Bridge. The material damage has been heavy, and the city's most noble thoroughfare is more or less in ruins." Under second picture (left) "Civilian has to show his passport." Under third (right) "Tradesmen's carts, motor-cars and baskets used to make a street barricade."
